Press for THE AVIARY GATE
Posted by: Big Apple @ 9:23 pm

Here are two great pre-publication quotes for THE AVIARY GATE by Katie Hickman.

The Aviary Gate reminds us of the fact that Katie Hickman is first and foremost a vibrant story-teller who writes mainly because of the pure joy of weaving stories, be they historical or as in this case fictional accounts. And for that, I am very grateful to her.”- Azar Nafisi, author of Reading Lolita in Tehran

“It is a hugely enjoyable novel, multi-layered, vividly depicted and a fascinating story, filled with the colours, sights and scents of Constantinople in the 16th century. This story is at the same time fast moving, complex and deeply satisfying and I hope it sells loads and loads!” - Joanne Harris, author of Chocolat and Lollipop Shoes

Jon Krakauer will write about American-football-player-turned soldier Pat Tillman, who died in a controversial friendly fire incident in Afghanistan for THE HERO, set for releas in October, 2008.  Doubleday’s David Drake says it reflects Krakauer’s “fascination with extreme people, who push themselves to the very limits of their capabilities.”  The publisher is announcing a first printing of 500,000 copies.
